ROHS also known as “Restriction Of Hazardous Substances Directive” is a directive on the restriction of use of certain hazardous substance in electronics products.
ROHS or sometimes called “lead-free” directive restricts the use of the following substances:
1.Lead
2.Cadmium
3.Mercury
4.Hexavalent chromium
5.Polybrominated biphenyls
6.Polybrominated diphenyl ether When producing electronic products that meet ROHS directive – all materials, items and manufacturing processes has to meet the ROHS directive guidelines.
Printed Circuit Board, Components and Assembly process needs to be ROHS compliant. Beginning 2006, Silvtronics has implemented a new process line to support ROHS compliant manufacturing for PCB and PCB Assembly manufacturing. Silvtronics’ customers can be assured that the removal of these hazardous substances will not affect the quality and reliability of their printed circuit board and assembled electronic product. The ROHS directive currently applies to European Union member state.
